A very stupid, yet important Jaws question

Hi all

Every time I come across a website that makes use of Flash to some extent, I disable it. Everytime I hit a page that has this auto refresh feature, I disable it too.
However, everytime I revisit these pages, I've got to turn off these 2 features again, and it's annoying somehow.
Also, on some pages, when I turn off the "refresh automatically" feature, the page still keeps refreshing.
Any idea how I can fix this permanently?

Thanks for any help.

Howdy Quintin,
Not entirely sure on this first bit, so check this with someone first. But to disable flash, I believe, Here's what ya do mate:
In IE, go tools, options.
ctrl+tab to programs.
tab to and hit the manage addons button
tab once.
arrow down to shockwave flash object
tab once
arrow down to disable.
hit ok when it says you may have to restart your browser.

to disable auto refresh, do this:
tools, options.
security
hit the custom level button.
in the treview, go to miscilaneous
go down to allow meta refresh.
hit your spacebar on disable.
hit ok.
it'll ask if you are sure you want to change security settings for this zone, (i.e the internet), hit yes for this.
tab along to ok again.
hit it.
voila! we are done.

hth,
Simon
PS: there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. I hope this isn't one of the latter.

Simon, thanks for such detailed instructions! That's much appreciated. I'm afraid to change settings at all, so the step-by-step is very helpful!

You're all very welcome. When playing around with that, although it's all very reversable it does help when someone talks you through it. Especially if you don't look around that part of the pc too often. smile I love it when I can help out like this.
